09/23/2020 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Marc continues to shine and showed his 'coachability' making improvements everyday. At 3B, he displays smooth/athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a relaxed/confident setup, stepping into the box with a purpose. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-78 mph with arm side run. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run and is a quality pitch that will get outs. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Kirchner has a solid skill-set with upside as he approaches only his sophomore season.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Marc is a strong 3B/RHP prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. At 3B, Marc fields in a low position and makes a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with life through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a soft stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Marc gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Marc shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 64-67mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 72-74mph with arm side run and sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Marc is a talented prospect who should find success going into his freshman season.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Marc is an athletic 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate he displays well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through an aggressive approach. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 3B, Marc shows smooth footwork and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and keeps his throws accurate with carry through his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-75 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with downward action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. With 4 years to further develop, Marc has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
