06/05/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Marcerio is a talented athlete who is fun to watch. Quick/fluid actions allow him to work naturally through the baseball as he has a quick release and zip on his throws across the diamond (91 mph). He has plus lateral range and makes the tough plays in the hole and to his glove side with ease. At the plate, this righty stands in well with fluid rhythm. Quick hands whip the barrel (94 exit velocity) to and through the contact point as he extends through and drives the ball to the deep parts of the park. Marcerio also has game changing speed (6.75 60 yard). A special player, Marcerio has the ability to make things happen both offensively and defensively.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament The switch-hitting Allen has a natural looseness and rhythm to everything he does on the field. His infield actions are advanced with sure, soft hands at shortstop. He was excellent in the workout and made all the plays in games earning him the Easton Elite Gloveman Award as the best defensive infielder at the event. His throws (90 mph arm strength) have carry as well to finish off his plays from the left side. At the plate, Marcerio showed a quick, loose hands both RH and LH. He flashed surprising power (98 mph exit velocity) and squared up several balls in games including a hard-hit single and a deep triple. Committed to Kennesaw State, Marcerio is an exciting prospect to follow at a premium position.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
