08/13/2021 - Baseball Factory Summer Classic Marcos is an OF/LHP prospect who showcased his skills at the BF Summer Classic. In the OF, showed efficient footwork and ability to cover ground in all directions. Creates good fielding angles with a clean gather off his right foot. Accurate/on-line throws to cutoff man as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a long arm action, and an arm velocity up to 77mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and stays in his legs throughout his delivery. Picks up target early and lands square to target. He attacked hitters with a FB that sat 70-73mph with good tailing action. In 1 inning of work, he only allowed 1 hit and threw 50% of his pitches for strikes. A left-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and even stance. A smooth swing, with a short/square stride, and he hits into a firm front side. A flat barrel path with good extension out front enable him to line drives consistently to all fields. During his round of BP, he had a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. Marcos reached base twice during the games. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Marcos continues to show as a prospect in the OF. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry to his target. At the plate he continues to shine. Hands are quick and work to and through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, delivery is repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 66-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with gradual break.

12/20/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Daytona Beach, FL Marcos is a tall, lean OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.37 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap to gap pop. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 66-68 mph with tailing action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tail but throws too hard resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 6 years to further develop, Marcos has a lot of potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
