06/05/2008 - Under Armour Southeast Regional Tournament - 2008 Kimura ran 6.71 in the 60-yard dash, an improvement on the 6.87 we recorded in January 2008. During this event, he was not at 100% thanks to a lingering sore knee. However, this did not appear to slow him down as far as running the bases or ranging for balls in the center field go. He showed very good outfield range, thanks to good jumps and routes along with his straight away speed. His arm once again showed right around solid average. At the plate, he has quick hands and strength in his swing - giving him potential to drive balls. In general, he needs to work to improve his pre-pitch rhythm and action. Needs to develop a better load and trigger with his hands, will help him start the barrel on a more direct route to contact - at present tends to start swing with bigger muscles, resulting in some excess length and causing the barrel to arrive late. Overall, an athletic player with present physical strength - has ability to work with, just needs some polish to help him make the most of it.
