09/20/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Marcus continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He only showed on the mound at the event but has improved his arm strength as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Delivery is sound and repeatable, allowing his arm action to work loose and easy to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 78-80 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his split finger pitch with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Offensively, hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop.

10/20/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Conroe (Houston), TX Marcus improved radar velocity to 80 MPH, exit velocity to 84 MPH, and showed a spike in hitting numbers during his last workout in Houston. At 3B, Marcus has good aggressiveness to the ball, he presents well, and covers ground. He makes plays consistently, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Marcus has good balance over the rubber, he separates his hands on time, and works on a downhill plane. He works quickly, he has a controlled landing toward home, and he finishes in a complete position. Offensively, Marcus has a tall/open stance, a short/square stride, and he stands in well balanced. He has fast bat speed, makes hard contact, and he uses his lower body.

10/21/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Conroe (Houston), TX Marcus is a lanky and athletic 2022 2-way prospect. At the hot corner, Marcus presents a low/early glove, a quick first step, and creates angles to the ball. He plays through his backhand and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Marcus starts in a tall and closed stance. He loads his hands back into the drive position, has separation in his load, and drives the ball to all fields. On the bump, Marcus gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. His fastball tops out at 69 mph, he has a 10-6 break on his curveball, and his changeup works down. Marcus will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Marcus is a hardworking RHP/3B prospect who has a long, projectable build. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
