07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Marcus continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities have improved, now showing outstanding abilities as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive in attacking balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
