He creates leverage with his backside and direct hands, lacing the ball deep into the gaps. As Marcus continues to work on a more level bat path, his hitting abilities will continue to improve. Marcus is a lean is a thick 1B that will graduate in 2019. At the plate is where he shows best through a closed setup with balance. Hands are loose and aggressive working through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing middle of the field well. Power numbers will continue to improve as he loads more and works to use his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he presents hand more out front and increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Marcus has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
