06/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida This athletic SS shows a tremendous future on the diamond. A RHH, hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. Mark has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

04/08/2018 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL Mark is a tall, well-built SS/RHP prospect who has a talented skill set. Offensively, Mark has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Mark has fast bat speed with a direct swing path and gets good separation with his hands. He consistently lands his barrel to the baseball and can uses the whole field. Mark has the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. In the field, Mark has firm footwork and creates effective angles to cover a wide territory. He receives the ball with soft hands and has a clean exchange. Mark has a quick release throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate with good carry across the diamond. On the mound, Mark has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He keeps his eyes on his target and works downhill. Mark has a clean arm action and stays square to home plate with a controlled landing at the proper stride length. His fastball has run and sink movement at 81-83 MPH. Mark has late, sharp break on his breaking ball and his change-up is deceptive with movement. Overall, Mark has talent on both sides of the ball and can make an impact at the next level.

01/07/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Jacksonville, FL Mark is and athletic 2019 SS/RHP prospect. At SS, Mark has active pre pitch movement, a quick first step to the ball, and works behind the ball. He plays through the backhand and throws from multiple arm slots. At the plate, Mark starts in an athletic stance and gets his hands back into the drive position. He uses his lower half and attacks the inside part of the ball. On the bump, Mark Gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and commands the fastball over the middle part of the plate. Mark will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/18/2017 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Mark is a true gamer who lives and breathes baseball and works tirelessly to be the best he can be. He has impressive skills and makes special plays, led by his plus changeup on the mound that is a true out pitch for him and one he can go to in a big spot. He creates a good angle on his pitches to induce weak contact and pounds the zone with his three-pitch mix, a tailing fastball in the 80's, a 10-4 curveball and the plus change. He flashes at short with the ability to make spectacular plays with his athleticism, footwork and arm strength. He has extended range to both sides with soft hands to field and is quick to transfer and get rid of the ball. He works the count at the dish, making adjustments throughout the week and even in at bats. His hands work well to the ball while his lower half generates good power to hit hard line drives. Mark is an exciting prospect with a bright future in the game.

05/14/2017 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Mark is a very talented SS/RHP prospect. As a SS, Mark creates good angles to the ball, works side to side, plays through the ball, and throws from multiple arm angles. Increasing his agilities/speed, and arm strength will help this player take his game to an even higher level. At the plate, Mark has a simple approach, attacks the inside part of the ball, and uses his lower half. Backing the ball up and staying on plane will allow him to use the whole field. On the mound, Mark stays balanced over the rubber, repeats his delivery, keeps his eyes on target, and has a clean arm stroke. Continuing to work on commanding his pitches will increase his skill set on the mound.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
