Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHPPosition Projection

10/14/2015 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Mark is a talented RHP who continues to impress. During his outings at the Arizona Fall Classic - he challenged hitters mixing his pitches well. Arm works loose/free as he drives downhill toward the dish. FB jumps out of his hand and cracks the mitt - topping out at 87 mph with run. He commands the zone and can hit his spots. Curveball shows 12/6 shape with sharp/late action - proving to be a solid 'K' pitch. He works through quick tempo and doesn't give hitters a chance to get settled. In the OF, Mark displays his athleticism with his ability to cover ground with speed. He secures with ball with soft hands and fires strong/accurate throws into his target. As a hitter - this righty shows a balanced setup with centered balanced. He waits for his pitch as whips the barrel through a level path. Fischer is a RHP that will toe the rubber and compete. His abilities on the bump will garner him some looks from many college coaches.

07/06/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Cleveland, OH Mark is lean, lanky RHP that will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work long and well to the plate through a high 3/4 arm slot. Arm strength is solid as indicated by his top velocity of 83 mph. Fastball shows a range of 81-83 mph with good life. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break and shows as a quality pitch that will get outs. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with good sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Mark has an upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
