02/01/2015 - College PREP - Houston, TX Marshall returned to a Baseball Factory event for the first time in three and a half years, and showed great growth. Now in his junior year of high school, Marshall swung the bat with good balance, timing, and activated hands. He was patient to hit the ball where it was pitched and flashed pull side pop with front side extension. He was coordinated with his hands/hips to generate good bat speed and with a more consistent level path, will hit more line-drives. In the OF, he got to a good fielding position on-time with efficient foot work and a soft glove. He worked back on fly balls well and had a clean exchange to throw. Finding a more consistent productive pace and staying strong with his front side to throw will improve arm strength and overall ability. In all - Marshall is an intriguing athlete that ran a 7.24 sixty and played the game with a sense of consistency necessary for the next level.

07/19/2011 - Interactive Video Program - Carrollton (DFW), TX Marshall is a young, OF with good athleticism. Defensively, Marshall has fluid feet, soft hands, and he moves well laterally. He surrounds the ball well, stays behind, and he fields the ball athletically. Marshall plays through the ball well, he has a clean exchange, and he throws with a loose arm action with life and accuracy to his target. Offensively, Marshall has good balance, a proper load, and he lets the ball travel into the hitting zone. He stays inside the ball, he has fast bat speed, and he makes square / consistent contact. Marshall has a line drive approach and he swings in good rhythm. Offensive and defensive tool grades can further improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Field ground balls further in front
2. Quicken exchange
3. Long toss
Offense
1. More lower 1/2
2. Rhythm / Timing
3. Finish swing more level

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
