07/02/2023 - National Showcase - Keizer (Salem), OR Marshall is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. In the OF he works to keep ball in front with ability to make routine plays. He fields from an athletic fielding position with a quick transfer off his left foot. He made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 79mph into infield. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and even stance. A small hand load with good separation as he hits into a firm front side. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph during BP. On the mound he picks up his target early and separates his hands on-time. He throws a FB that sits 70-72mph with plus command, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth. As he continues to develop and mature, we foresee Marshall having a bright future on the baseball field.

09/11/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Keizer (Salem), OR Marshall continues show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.23 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range 69-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Keizer (Salem), OR Marshall is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to add. In the OF, he starts with active feet and shows ability to make routine plays. Takes aggressive routes to ground balls and has a clean gather off of his left foot. Fields from a square fielding position and fields the ball out front. Has a long arm as he works into a 3/4 arm slot and his throws were accurate/on-line into infield with an arm velocity up to 76mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. Has clean mechanics with good arm action. Very coachable kid with upside on the mound. He attacks hitters with a FB that sat 71-74mph with some movement in zone, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, a slider from the same window , and a developing changeup that had some arm side run. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Takes a short stride to contact with a level barrel path. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 71mph during BP. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Marshall is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training & Competition in Arizona. On the mound, Marshall gathers over the rubber and works with a loose arm. He takes a proper stride and stays inline toward the plate. Marshall shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 57-59mph with 10-4 break. Extending through his release more can help Marshall improve his pitch command and velocity. In the field, Marshall takes a quick first step and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, working to make accurate throws to his target. Marshall can build up his arm strength by long tossing. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and rotates his core through well, driving the ball from gap to gap. Getting his stride foot down sooner can help Marshall barrel up more baseballs. With four more years to develop, Marshall has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
