01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Marshall continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are excellent as he displays smooth, fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / clean and he presents well out front. Range is a plus (6.90 60 time) as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground in the MIF. Throws are accurate with on line carry (88 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with gap-to-gap pop.

01/21/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Marshall continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.12. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Behind the plate, he gets rid of the baseball quickly as he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.15. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process centering balls well out front. At the plate, hitting / power abilities have improved from both sides of the plate, now showing as outstanding. Hands are quick (87mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. The baseball explodes off the bat when centered.

06/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series Marshall is a talented athlete who can make things happen in many aspects of the game. Defensively, this fluid SS has an advanced approach. He shows quick/active footwork moving smoothly around the GB working from right to left. He presents his glove and fields the ball out in front with soft/sure hands. With the bat, Williams shows a little more natural from the right side. He has a simple setup with rhythm to load. He takes an aggressive hack on a level path as he connects and drives the middle of the field. He hustles out of the box and down the 1B line, putting pressure on the defense. Marshall (2021 grad) has skills with still a lot of time to develop and physically mature.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
