09/25/2011 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Masashi is a tall, solid, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, Masashi has a long / quick arm action, a controlled balance point, and good glove tuck. He has level shoulders, good direction toward home, and he lands in a square position. Masashi has life on his FB, and his CB shows tight spin. Improved command, and more finish on his pitches will help mound effectiveness rise. In the OF, Masashi has a low approach, active feet, and sure hands. He takes good angles to the ball, he covers ground well, and he fields in an athletic position. Masashi has a clean exchange, and he throws with a long arm action with life and carry to his target. OF skills can get better if Masashi can continue to quicken his feet and throw on a downhill plane. At the plate, Masashi has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and a proper load. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and he centers the ball well. Masashi has a line drive approach, he works the middle of the field, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. If Masashi can loosen his actions, and swing in better rhythm, hitting grades can rise.
