09/01/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Evansville, IN Masen is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, this LHP stands over the rubber well balanced, he separates his hands on time, and he lands in a square position. He keeps his eyes on target and competes in the zone with his pitches. At 1st base, Masen has good pre-pitch actions, he is aggressive to the ball, and he fields squarely. He fields out in front and has a long arm action to his target. Offensively, Masen has a tall/open stance, good balance, and he works the middle of the field. He keeps a still head and uses some lower body. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
