06/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Rapid City, SD Mason is a young, thin, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. In the INF, Mason has good pre-pitch actions, he moves well to the ball, and centers it properly. He takes good angles, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Mason has good balance and he keeps a still head on target. He gets good extension on his pitches, has a controlled landing toward home plate, and finishes in a complete position. Offensively, Mason has a tall stance, good balance, and he swings aggressively. He has a direct barrel, stays inside the ball, and he uses his lower 1/2. Overall abilities can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
