12/08/2019 - College PREP - Naples , FL Mason is an athletic and lean 2022 utility prospect. Behind the dish, Mason presents a big target, he has a quiet head, and has soft hands. When throwing he has a low arm slot and makes accurate throws. When blocking, he tries to work around the ball but he needs to be more consistent leading with his glove. At 3B, Mason fields the ball in a squared stance, he plays through the ball, and makes strong throws. At the plate, Mason starts in a tall stance, he gets to balance at contact, and hits off a firm front side. He keeps the barrel on plane and sprays the ball to all fields. Mason will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Davie, FL Mason is a C/OF who will graduate in 2022. Defensively behind the plate, he sits well with a big frame/target. He tries to center when blocking and makes accurate throws down to 2B. In the OF, he hustles hard as he works behind on fly balls. He plays through the GB and makes on-line throws to his target. As a hitter, Mason shows a square setup with smooth rhythm to load. He whips his barrel on-plane fast through the zone and drives pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
