09/22/2021 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Mason continues to show as a top prospect at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally (6.94 60 time) and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. At the event, he was 5 for 10 with a 2B and 3 SB. On the mound, he shows a controlled, repeatable delivery allowing his quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 88 mph. Fastball showed a range of 85-88 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. He shows a great feel for pitching and maintains composure on the bump. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Mason continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap to gap pop. On the mound, his righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 81-87 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working both sides of the plate.

08/02/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Mason continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well and covers a lot of ground with big play potential. Throws are accurate with on line zip (86 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-82 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late break. He maintains arm speed and shows a feel for pitch. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/05/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Mason is a tall SS prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Mason shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He shows fluid rhythm and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball with explosive bat speed, leading to loud contact and great gap to gap pop. Overall, Mason is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he continues to progress.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
