08/08/2021 - All-In Membership - Tomball (Houston), TX Mason is a C/2B prospect who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame athletic build, with a strong lower half, and room to add throughout. At C, he showed quick/active feet and a loud mitt. Quick/athletic actions as he gains ground to second base. Works thumb under baseball keeping balls in the strike zone. Quick transfer, with short arm action, and a high 3/4 release point and arm velocity of 89mph and a best pop time of 2.03 seconds. In the infield, he showed ability to make routine plays. 1 hand field in the alley, with a clean transfer, and accurate/on-line throws to first base. Showed good touch on his DP feeds. A right-handed hitter, he starts with an athletic and even stance. Short/compact barrel path, with strength at contact, and good barrel control. Hits into a firm front side, with quick hands, and ability to keep barrel in zone for a long time. Hit balls hard to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 87mph during BP. Another year of development should provide Mason with opportunities to play at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
