08/26/2023 - National Showcase - Spokane, WA Mason is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. At SS, showed quick feet and a good pre-pitch routine. Closes distance on batted balls and showed good lateral range. Made accurate throws to first base, with ability to throw from multiple arm angles, and had an arm velocity up to 75mph. On the mound, gathers over the rubber, with a good rear hip coil, and separates his hands on-time. Flashed a FB that sat 67-68mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a knuckle ball with good movement in the zone. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Gets his hands separated and keeps his weight between his knees. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. With 3 years of continued development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Mason is a 2026 SS/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At SS, he starts in an athletic posture and takes aggressive angles to batted balls. Showed efficient footwork as he works to center the baseball. He showed a 2-hand exchange, with accurate throws to first base, and an arm velocity up to 71mph. At the plate, he hits from a tall and open stance. Showed good barrel control with a good lower half turn. A compact swing allows him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph during BP. During the games, he proved to be a tough out as he reached base 6 times with 2 singles, and 4 base on balls. A right-handed pitcher, he has a good mound presence and pitches to contact. He has his shoulders in-line to his target and has a controlled landing. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 68mph with good command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. Mason is a solid 2-way player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/13/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Spokane, WA Mason showed good abilities on the mound and at SS during his last workout with The Factory. He increased radar velocity to 71 MPH, hitting spiked, and so did mound effectiveness. At SS, Mason has good pre-pitch actions, active feet, and firm hands. He fields low, his exchange is quick, and he throws with accuracy and a quick release across the diamond. On the mound, Mason stands over the rubber well balanced and shows a clean arm circle. He has good mechanics, a controlled landing, and he competes well in the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Mason stands in the box squarely, he hits line drives, and makes hard contact. He can spray to all fields, he rotates his hips through, and taps into his lower body.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Mason is coachable SS/RHP in the class of 2026 out of Sandpoint, ID. At SS, he showed the ability to take good angles to the baseball and field the ball out front in a low fielding position. He works through the ball with a clean exchange and makes good feeds to his targets. At the plate, this RHH uses a square set up with good balance to work a line drive approach with an on plane path. He swings with good intent and makes consistent contact. On the hill, he did a good job of gathering over the rubber and extending through the mitt on release. He worked a 3 pitch mix of fastball (65mph), slider and change up with cut. With 3+ years to further develop, Mason has potential with time and room to progress his game.

10/03/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Spokane, WA Mason is a 2026 SS/RHP. Defensively, he displayed quick feet with good range. He fielded the ball out front and got rid of the ball quickly with the ability to change arm slots. Offensively, he uses a square stance with fluid timing and good bat speed to hit line drives all over the field. On the bump, Mason exhibited solid mechanics with the ability to repeat and throw strikes. He had good break on his off speed and change up seemed to be his out pitch. Overall, Mason displayed very well in Spokane and we believe with growth he will develop into a promising prospect.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Mason continues to show a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 50-55 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
