01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Mason continues to show as prospect on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls. At the plate he continues shine through athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Munz has a ton of upside with the tools that will make an impact at the next level.

09/12/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - TX (HS) Mason continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he shows best through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 4. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/05/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Mason is a strong 3B prospect who will graduate in 2022. In the field, Mason gets into good position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Attacking the ball more aggressively can help Mason improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He shows smooth rhythm and takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact to all fields. Mason can improve as a hitter by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. Overall, Mason is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
