01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Mason is a 2024 OF prospect out of St. Clairsville, OH who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American Tournament. In the OF, he plays with good energy and takes aggressive routes to the baseball. Fields from an athletic fielding position, with good glove presentation, and creates momentum towards his target. Has a long arm stroke in back as he works into an over-the-top release point coming forward. He made accurate throws into the infield with an arm velocity up to 77mph. At the plate, he hits with a solid base and open stance. Gets good hand separation, with looseness to hands, and rotates his lower half to contact point. Gets on-plane early and showed a fast bat through the hitting zone. He hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 88mph. In live game action, he reached base 3 times with a single and 2 walks. With 2 1/2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Mason having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Mason is an athletic SS/OF prospect who showed well during the Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Mason shows proper footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange, making on-line throws through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing with good extension, leading to loud contact and pull side pop. Overall, Mason is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/20/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Mason continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.81 runner. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, power potential have improved, now displaying well above power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. He showed great energy in the field.

12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Mason is a SS prospect who showcased his skills during the Academic All-American Tournament. In the field, Mason makes the routine plays and has a clean exchange, working to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. He gets into a small load and is explosive driving his lower half through. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and strong line drives. Overall, Mason is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Mason is a talented/athletic SS who showed very well at the All-Region Tournament. He stands in with centered balance and an open stance with simple/quiet actions waiting for a pitch he likes. Hands are quick whipping the barrel to and through the zone as he connects with pop (exit velocity = 81 mph). He puts the barrel on the ball consistently proving to be a challenging out, going 5-5 with three singles and two triples. Myers has a ton of upside and will only continue to progress. He's one to keep an eye on.

06/29/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Mason showed solid overall skills and good foot speed during his last workout in Pittsburgh. He was timed at 6.93 in the 60 yard dash. At SS, Mason has efficient footwork, the ball sticks well to his glove, and he makes plays consistently. He keeps the ball in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a high 3/4 arm slot with strength across the diamond. Offensively, Mason has a quiet approach, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes hard/level contact, he hits with strength to the pull side, and he uses his lower 1/2 well. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

10/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Mason is a tall, lean, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. At SS, Mason has firm hands, efficient footwork, and he fields athletically. He makes plays, the ball sticks to his glove, and he throw with momentum and accuracy across the diamond. In the OF, Mason has active feet, a soft glove, and he takes good routes to the ball. He fields low, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy to his cut off man. At the plate, Mason has a square set-up, good balance, and a short/square stride. He has very fast bat speed, makes hard contact, and he uses his lower body. Solid overall skills can get even better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
