Official Scouting Report

02/21/2022 - All-In Membership - Keizer (Salem), OR Mason is an athletic SS/RHP in the 2026 class. In the field, he is quick to the baseball and gathers his body well. Has advanced hands and his exchanges are clean. Works through the baseball well and releases from a high ¾ arm slot. Produces feeds that are on-line and accurate. On the mound, he can pound the zone with all of his pitches. He has solid mechanics and proves the ability to repeat them at a young age. His FB topped at 62 with occasional movement. His CB sat 57-8 with 11/5 shape. His CH sat 55-8 and working to maintain his FB arm speed will allow for further deception. At the plate, he has a quiet set up with great body control. He is quick to the ball and his barrel stays in the zone. Creates line drive production with future gap to gap production once his body matures. Overall, Mason impressed scouts with his play and feel he is just scratching the surface of a great future in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
