11/07/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gambrills, MD Mason is a RHP/3B in the class of 2022 out of Pennsylvania. At 3B, he showed good agility and lateral quickness while presenting glove well on grounders and attacking the slow roller well. His arm plays with a good exchange and consistent throws to his target. In the batters box, he stood square to the pitcher and had smooth timing with fast bat speed which resulted in hard line drives with flashes of power. On the mound, he had a good idea how to attack hitters and decent mechanics to match. His FB had some cut to it while his bb/slider had good spin and his split was the swing and miss pitch for batters.

05/16/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - York, PA Mason continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls but needs to play through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 78-80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches.

02/13/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Mason Weaver is a 2022 3B/RHP. Medium frame, athletic body showing plenty of room to fill in the build. Primary third baseman works around the ball well with decent hands. Throws showed good life and carry across the diamond. Moves well laterally showing good range both glove side and to the back hand side. Throws from multiple arm angles. Right-handed pitcher, he starts with a small side step into a belt high leg lift, the arm action is abbreviated through the back working to a high 3/4 arm slot as he worked the fastball predominantly to the arm side with good run. Worked in a 10/4 curveball with good arm speed and true depth through the zone. Repeats his delivery and did a nice job throwing pitches for strikes. Right-handed swing starts with a square athletic stance. Showed strength and bat speed in the swing working with level swing plane. Barrel stays in zone as he displayed easy lift in the swing as he drove balls in gap. Excellent two way potential and should tap into the tools soon to get him to the next level.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Mason showed well at 3B/RHP during the Pre Season All American event. At 3B Mason showed great footwork and athletic fielding. He fields the ball cleanly making quick exchanges as he works to throw. His throws and double plays are accurate and online. Hitting, Mason sets up in a square stance and shows smooth timing as he loads. He uses his lower half well to create fast bat hitting consistent line drives. On the mound, he pitches with a FB/SL combo commanding both pitches for strikes. Mason gathers over the rubber well and shows a clean arm action that allows him to repeat and pound the strike zone. Mason will continue to deliver and be a successful 2-way player.

09/30/2020 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Mason is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Mason shows quick footwork and gets into an athletic position. He fields with soft, sure hands and gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a centered stride. He is controlled getting into a small load and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Mason gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Mason shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 83mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits at 72mph. Changeup sits at 74mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Mason is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

09/04/2020 - All-In Membership - Frederick, MD Mason is a strong (5'11"/175) 2-way player who continues to progress on the diamond. Defensively, he shows active prep and takes good angles on his approach to the GB. Hands are soft as he gathers well and has a clean transfer to throw. With the bat, this righty shows an athletic/balance setup with a quiet head tracking pitches into the zone. He whips the barrel on a direct path and hits hard line-drives. On the mound, he has an effective 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He maintains fluid rhythm, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB now tops out at 80 mph while showing good arm-side run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action. CH complements FB well showing good sink. Weaver has a solid all-around skill-set and should find success in this his junior year.

12/28/2019 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Mason is a SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, Mason shows fluid footwork and covers ground well. He fields with soft hands and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Mason improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and takes a level swing, leading to solid contact to all fields. Mason can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Mason gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Mason shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph. Breaking ball sits from 64-66mph with 10-5 break. Changeup sits from 68-71mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Finishing with his chest over his front knee can help Mason improve as a pitcher. Overall, Mason is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

06/16/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Mason increased radar velocity (77 MPH), lowered 60 time (7.69 seconds), and improved INF skills. Defensively, Mason has active feet, athletic actions, and he fields out in front of his body. He fields low and athletically, gains momentum, and has an accurate arm across the diamond. On the mound, Mason has a good presence, a simple delivery, and he works in good rhythm. He has good direction toward home and finishes in a complete position. Offensively, Mason has a square/athletic set-up, he swings on plane, and makes consistent contact. He loads his hands well and taps into his lower body. Mason is a hard working team player who has the drive to get better.

02/09/2019 - College PREP - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Mason is an athletic, young 2 way player with good upside at SS and on the mound (RHP). At SS, Mason displays active footwork, loose easy actions and a soft glove with range to his glove side. Gaining more momentum on his throws can help Mason improve defensively. At the plate, Mason shows a square, athletic setup with a short, square stride. His load is straight back with fluid, smooth rhythm, with his barrel in a consistent spot for a clean bat path. He has a quiet head to see ball clearly for line drive swings to all fields. On the mound, Mason shows on time separation with clean arm action, extending out in front. Good tempo as he eyes the target, being directional to the plate. Mason will continue to increase his arm strength with a good long toss program and by driving his lower half. Mason continues to improve in all aspects of his game on his way to more development at the Omaha World Series June 2019.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Mason continued to showcase his skills at the National World Series at Pirate City and made adjustments well. In the field, Mason shows quick footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Mason can improve defensively by fielding the ball out in front of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and gets into his load well. He leads with his lower half and takes a level swing, leading to square contact. Mason can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter stride to improve his timing. On the mound, Mason keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and stays inline towards the plate. Mason shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with arm side tail. Breaking ball sits from 58-59mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 58-59mph with cutting action. Mason can improve as a pitcher by driving his lower half more. Overall, Mason is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills.

07/14/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Mason is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the D.C. All Star Experience. In the field, Mason shows active footwork and is very agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Mason can improve defensively by staying low on backhand ground balls. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to hard contact and line drives. Mason can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Mason gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and stays inline towards the plate. Mason has a four with mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with good arm side run. Breaking ball ranges form 55-60mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits at 57mph with good sinking action as he throws with fastball arm speed. Knuckle ball sits at 57mph with solid movement. Mason can improve as a pitcher finishing with his chest over his front knee. With four more years to develop, Mason has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

02/10/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Mason is a tall, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Mason has loose actions, good footwork to the ball, and he fields in a low position. He has soft hands, follows his flips for the double play, and throws with momentum and accuracy to his target. On the mound, Mason has a good arm action, he keeps his eyes on target, and he competes in the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Mason has a tall set-up, good balance, and a short barrel to the ball. He is a strong hitter with raw ability who can spray to all fields. Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
