06/08/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Masyn is an athletic SS/RHP that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range (6.62 60 time). He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. Defensive abilities are at a pro level as he shows big play potential. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 90-92 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a plus feel for pitch with sinking action. Off speed pitches show as an outstanding pitches that will get outs. Masyn has an upside on the mound and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
