10/12/2011 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic - 2011 Matt showed well as a two-way player at the Arizona Fall Classic. On the mound, he used a sinking fastball that he ran up to 83 mph and a sharp curveball to retire hitters. He also mixed in a slider and change-up that both showed flashes of being quality pitches in the future. Matt displayed good mound presence and has an athletic, repeatable delivery. He pitches ahead and is not afraid of contact. At the plate, Matt makes consistent contact thanks to good hands and a clean bat path. Less head movement could allow Matt to flourish even more as a hitter. At 3B, Matt has sure hands and an accurate arm across the diamond. Quicker feet will put him into position to make more plays at the hot corner. Overall, Matt's highest upside appears to be on the mound where his curve already serves as a swing-and-miss pitch.
