06/15/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1
Matt is a RHP/OF that performed well in the tournament setting. In the outfield, Matt continuously worked hard - improving his glove positioning on fly balls. He plays through ground balls and uses his body momentum to throw. On the mound, he throws a fastball at 77 MPH with late sink and two off-speed pitches that are effective in keeping hitters off-balance. With the bat, he has fast bat speed, but has even more potential when he taps into his lower half. Matt is a great intangible player that works hard and is very coachable.

Matt is a thick RHP who will graduate in 2013. On the mound, Matt has a sound / easy arm action, a controlled balance point, and on-time separation. He keeps his shoulders level, finishes in a complete position, and is around the zone with his pitches. A more still head, working down in the zone, and added arm strength will help mound effectiveness improve. Offensively, Matt has a tall set-up, a short stride, and average bat speed. He has an aggressive / level swing and he puts the bat on the ball consistently. Better timing, a more square stride, and added bat speed will improve hitting.
