01/16/2009 - Under Armour Pre-Season All America - 2009 Matt is a quick athletic player. In the OF, Matt shows great instincts and good range. He gets to the ball and throws with accuracy. He needs to work on using his momentum on each throw, but he has the right idea of how to play the position. At the plate, Matt has a level compact swing. He has some pop to the pull side and a good bat path. He tends to get out in front of the pitch and he needs to let the ball travel more, but he has the right idea of how to hit.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
