09/08/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Greenville, SC Matthew is a tall, solid, 2-way player who plays 3rd base and OF. In the INF, Matthew has good range to the glove side, he keeps the ball in front, and makes the routine plays. He has a clean exchange, and a long 3/4 arm slot across the diamond. In the OF, Matthew tracks well, shows good hustle, and has a consistent arm to his cut off man. At the plate, Matthew has a square set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, keeps his hands inside the ball well, and works the ball gap to gap. Overall skills can improve if Matthew can work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
