07/07/2015 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Matt continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He improved his foot speed / quickness at the event, now an above average runner as indicated by his 7.29 60 time. Defensive grade in the MIF have improved as well, displaying clean / fluid actions. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF. Hands are soft / clean as he plays through a low approach well. Feet / hands work well together through the fielding process, displaying glove well out front. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but needs to work to get rid of the baseball quicker to improve arm grade. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup as he tracks balls well. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path as he makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he keeps hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. Lettueri is a hard working player that plays with a lot of energy.

01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Pirate City Matthew is a hardworking, very coachable young man who showed at 2B at the event. Feet are active he works to square balls up, shows good glove position and posture as he makes the routine plays. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more and increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate, but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program and work on getting rid of the baseball more quickly. At the plate, he shows a squared, athletic stance with balance. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a solid line drive approach, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he learns to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power grades will improve as he learns to use his lower half more.

12/15/2013 - College PREP - Madison (NYC), NJ Matthew is a solid R/R 2B. Defensively, he shows active footwork and smooth actions. He has a clean transfer and fields the ball cleanly. At the plate, this righty displays a quiet setup with good rhythm. He gets back into a solid loaded position and swings on a level path, using the whole field. More lower 1/2 drive will help to increase power at the plate. Overall - as only a 2017 grad, Matthew projects well in the infield and with added size and strength has potential to be quite a player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
