05/12/2019 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Matthew is a young, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Matthew covers ground well, he creates a good fielding angle, and he fields squarely. He has a clean exchange, gathers himself well to throw, and delivers the ball with momentum and accuracy to his target. In the OF, Matthew has a presentable glove, he fields aggressively, and makes plays consistently. He goes back on the ball well, plays through, and delivers the ball with consistency to his cut off man. Offensively, Matthew has a closed stance, a square stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He has quiet actions, creates a good bat angle to the ball, and he can spray to all fields. Overall skills will continue to get better with work on the following.

Infield
1. Avoid flipping
2. Hands
3. Footwork
Outfield

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
