09/21/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Futures Series East - Jupiter, FL Mika once again showed amazing baseball instincts, along with an impressive set of tools. He ran 6.72 in the 60 yard dash on a slightly soft track, and posted as low as 4.18 down the line from the right side of the plate. In the workout, he shows you everything you want to see both with the glove and the bat, and then he does it as well or better once the game starts. His feet are very quick defensively, and he maintains excellent body control throughout. His hands are sure, his actions compact and clean, and his arm stroke short and quick. At the plate, his approach is simple and repeatable - without much to go wrong. His stroke is short and level, and he generates excellent bat speed - showed the ability again to accelerate the barrel through contact. He consistently makes hard contact against quality pitching, and runs the bases aggressively and with great awareness. He is truly a special player that combines high level tools with a rare feel for the game.

06/12/2013 - Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Team One Florida Mika ran 6.63 in the 60 yard dash, and got down the line in 4.33 from the right side of the plate. While his fielding and hitting tools are impressive, his ability to play game and the instincts he shows are even more impressive. Everything you see him do in a workout, you see him do just as well or better in games. Defensively, he has life in his feet and is very active in his approach to the ball. Glove position is good, and his hands are sure. Exchange is quick and he has a quick release when it is needed. He is very athletic and shows great body control on slow roller play. At the plate, he accelerates the barrel through the hitting zone and rotates his core well. His stroke is loose and fluid, and his route to contact is direct. Hand-eye coordination is excellent, and when combined with easy bat speed leads to consistent hard contact. Overall, a naturally gifted player both physically and instinctually - he has the ability to take over games with his skills at the plate, on the bases and defensively.

05/24/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Memorial Day Classic 16U Participant Athletic, line drive approach, opposite field double, 3 stolen bases, game changer.

05/25/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Memorial Classic 16U Participant Instinctual player with usable tools, baseball player type. Short quick stroke with strength in hands and wrists. Good presence in batters box, has plate discipline. Feet work well defensively, has arm strength.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
