06/03/2015 - Under Armour Southeast Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Matthew has worked hard and molded himself into a solid prospect. An all-around talent - Miller makes things happen when he's on the field. Behind the dish, he commands the game and is a vocal leader. He is quick around pitches in the dirt, working to center/deadening them out in front. Throws down to 2B are on the bag with pop times at 2.19. Offensively, this righty steps into the box with a purpose. He gets his hands back into a strong launch position with good leverage. Barrel delivery is quick with speed as he connects and uses the entire field. Matthew brings energy to the field and hustles everywhere. An Eckerd commit - this well rounded player will make an impact at the next level.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Matthew is a strong / athletic OF that will graduate in 2015. In the OF he gets behind the ball well, has good body control, and takes the proper angles to the ball. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws. He plays thru well and gains momentum to his target. At the plate he has a smooth load, strong balance, and he uses his lower half well. He has an aggressive approach and looks to do damage early in the count. His bat speed is quick and he finds the barrel consistently with good power.

12/20/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Matt is a quiet, hard working player who showed the ability to make adjustments on a consistent basis. Behind the plate, he has quiet actions, shows good quickness and lateral movement. He gets around pitches in the dirt and does well centering the ball off of his chest. Offensively, he possesses quick hands, shows gap to gap power and uses his lower half very well. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he swings with authority. He will be a run producer and fit in the middle of a line-up. This power hitting backstop has the tools that will play at the next level.

11/16/2014 - College PREP - Davie, FL Matthew showed good strength through contact at his most recent outing with Baseball Factory. He tracked the ball well to contact and generated good bat speed to hit. His path was level for most swings, but he still has a tendency to try to pull and gets uphill. Behind the plate, he works around the ball with the glove and receives with sure hands. He presents a low target and works good angles down to block. Overall - Matthew's progress has been great to track throughout high school and we look forward to watching what his senior year has in store.

09/19/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Fall Classic Upperclass Participant Matthew showed great strides at the plate in Jupiter. He showed quick hands and generated solid bat speed. He displayed good balance at the plate and above average gap-to-gap power. As he works on keeping his hands a bit higher at the launch position he showed continue to develop even more power. Behind the plate Matthew showed advanced blocking ability deadening the ball well and keeping it in front. He tends to have a low elbow when he throws. Instead of getting on top of the baseball as he throws he will push the ball. Working developing quicker footwork and getting his elbow up on throws will help takes his game to the next level.

Hands are loose and works through level swing path. He has strong hands and strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
