12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Matthew is a talented OF in the 2023 class. He is a player with multiple tools (6.65 runner/88 arm velo). In the field, he has athletic actions and his feet are swift. He works behind the baseball and has strong glove action. He can redirect the baseball quickly and his ball has life back to the dirt. Working to control his accuracy with put him in the elite defender category. At the plate, he has a very athletic set-up and activates his load well. He stays sideways in his stride and maintains his balance inside his feet. Bat speed is fast and he generates hard contact. Overall, Matthew is a next level player.

08/07/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jacinto, CA Matthew is an OF who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame athletic build, with broad shoulders, and strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.76 seconds. In the OF, he showed ability to cover ground in all directions, with fluid footwork, and make routine plays. Showed good lateral range as he works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Made accurate/on-line throws into infield from an over-the-top arm slot with an arm velocity up to 88mph. At the plate, he starts with an upright and even stance. Good frame with long levers enable him to create good leverage on his swings. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph. With another year of growth and development, we see Matthew having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
