06/10/2013 - College PREP - Troy, MI Matt is a thin, 2-way player who pitches and catches. On the mound, Matt has a sound / easy arm action, a controlled balance point, and on-time separation. He has level shoulders, good direction toward home, and he throws strikes. Pitching can improve with a more still head, development of a breaking ball, and finishing off his pitches. Behind the plate, Matt has firm hands, he has quiet actions, and he tracks the ball well. A better set-up, work on blocking, and added arm strength will spike catching numbers. At the plate, Matt has a crouched set-up, a short stride, and he stays behind the ball well. He will need to improve his timing, loosen his grip, and tap into more lower 1/2 for hitting to improve.
