01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Matthew is an athletic OF prospect who showed well during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Matthew shows fluid footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with center balance. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and sprays the ball to all fields. Overall, Matthew is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
