07/10/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National East Conde had a solid showing at the event in the OF. He displays proper routes/angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind in playing through with momentum to his target. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his quick/athletic feet well in covering a lot of ground, displaying range. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a direct/level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. The baseball explodes off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 5. Once on base, he uses his foot speed to get around the bases and will steal a base. Mauro has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Conde continues to put his talents on display. This athlete is fun to watch. At the plate, he has a balanced approach with fluid rhythm to load. He swings it with authority to and through the zone as the ball explodes off of his barrel. Although aggressive he remains selective and doesn't swing at many bad pitches. In the OF, this 6'0"/205 athlete can cover some ground. He tracks down fly-balls in the gaps with speed (6.94) working behind the ball well. Transfer/exchange is quick/clean as he fires strong throws with carry into his target. Mauro has a ton of upside and will play at a very high level.

09/20/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures East Conde has a solid build at 6-foot and 205 pounds. He ran 7.03 in the 60 yard dash, and generally fits a corner OF profile. He featured a good combination of hitting ability and raw power from the right side of the plate. He was aggressive thru the zone after a good path to contact, allowing him to drive the ball with authority back up the middle - from the pull gap to the opposite field gap. He was very quick to contact, and showed some ability to accelerate the barrel thru contact - this combined with great extension is the source of his raw power. He's got a unique setup and prep action, but it seems to work for him. Defensively, he moved to the ball well and got momentum to the target. It's conceivable for him to play RF, although the tools probably line up best in LF at this point.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
