Exclusive College Recruiting Program An outstanding athlete who primarily plays SS/2b but has played 3b and CF. a 6.63 60 runner who continues to add strength in his frame. Quick feet with lateral range and athleticism to play downhill, soft hands and a quick release who continues to add arm strength up to 86 mph raw arm strength and increasing to stick at SS potentially. Has a top of the order potential bat with feel for the barrel and enough power to drive a ball out to the pull side with exit velocities in the low 90 MPH range and peaking at 96 MPH. Has the ability to stay on pitches on the outer half and hit them with authority to RCF gap. He is a potential above average hitter at the college level with enough strength and athleticism to see him making an impact at the top of the order for a program.

08/09/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Rochester, NY Max is an athletic SS/OF prospect who continues to shine on the diamond. In the field, Max shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, producing loud line drives and great pull side power. Overall, Max is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

08/10/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Geneva, NY Max continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (82 mph velocity) on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At SS, he shows active prep and works around the GB into an athletic fielding position. Hands are presented out in front as he funnels softly to the clean transfer to throw. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (86 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power driving the ball with gap-to-gap pop. Max has tremendous upside and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

07/15/2019 - College PREP - Avon (Cleveland), OH Max continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork and he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft / sure, presenting well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 69 mph. Fastball shows a range of 66-69 mph with tailing action. He slows arm speed on changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Max is an athletic and talented 2023 prospect that was very coachable. At SS, Max is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and works around the ball. He has a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball. He needs to continue to improve his range and first step to the ball. At the plate, Max starts in a squared position and loads his hands back into the drive position. He's a patient hitter and had 6 walks on the week. He needs to continue to get his front foot down on time, keep a quiet head, and create backside drive with his lower half. Continuing to long toss will build arm strength and improved hip mobility will allow him to improve his range. Max is a hard worker and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/02/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Troy (Albany), NY Max is a lean, athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Max has fluid footwork, agile movements, and he fields the ball athletically. He has good range, a quick/clean exchange, and throws with carry and accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Max has a loose/clean arm action, he separates on time, and lands with a controlled landing toward home in a complete position. At the plate, Max has a square/crouched setup, good balance, and quick hands. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and he uses his lower body well. Max is a solid young player and can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
