05/15/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Antonio, TX Max is a RHP/OF who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build, with broad shoulders, and strength present. A right-handed pitcher, he shows good rhythm to his delivery with good direction to towards the plate. Easy delivery with ability to repeat it. He has a deceptive delivery and hides the ball well. He gathers over the rubber, with a good rear hip coil, and lands square to his target. He throws a FB that was up to 78mph with slight cutting action. He mixes in a 10/4 slider with tight spin, and a breaking ball he throws from same window, and a changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. In the OF, he showed ability to keep ball in front of him and makes routine plays. He creates good angles and has a clean gather on the left side. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a short arm stroke in back, and an arm velocity up to 80mph. At the plate, he sets up with an athletic and even stance. He activates his hands, with smooth timing, and showed ability to control the barrel. A short barrel path enables him to spray balls consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. With another year of growth and development, we foresee this 2-way player having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/20/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Max is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to develop. In the OF, good reads off bat and efficient footwork enables him to take good routes to balls. Square fielding position as he fields ball out front with ability to make routine plays. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity of 81 mph into infield. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher works with good tempo. Good direction towards plate and ability to throw strikes. Attacks hitters with a FB that was up to 81 mph, and a breaking ball 11/5 shape. In 5 innings of work, Max induced multiple weak popups and 7 strikeouts. A right-handed hitter, starts with an athletic and closed stance. Quiet head/eyes enable him to track pitches well. Showed good awareness of the strike zone. Max was a tough out and took competitive at bats in live game action. Simple and balanced swing with ability to hit balls to all fields with a recorded bat exit velocity of 79 mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

09/26/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Corpus Christi, TX Max is an OF/RHP prospect in the class of 2023. He shows good athleticism and continues to improve all aspects of his game. In the field, he shows good range and the ability to get good reads off the bat. He does a good job fielding ground balls out front and with soft hands. He does a good job creating momentum to throw. He could benefit greatly from a structured throwing program to improve arm strength. At the plate, he hits from an athletic stance and has a square stride. He does a good job getting his hands and hips loaded. Uses his lower ½ well and that helps keep him balanced throughout the swing. He showed competitive at bats and got on base multiple times. On the mound, he did a good job repeating his mechanics. Worked well out of the stretch and showed feel with his fastball down in the zone. Showed competitiveness and threw many pitches for strikes. Max is a good young prospect who continues to show great development. We are excited to see him again in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
