03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Max continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities are now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Behind the plate, he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.15 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/25/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Greenville, SC Max continues to show improvements in his overall baseball abilities. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.06 range with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. At 1B, defensive abilities he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (93 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

08/04/2022 - Baseball Factory Summer World Series at the NY Mets Spring Training Complex Max is a class of 2023 C/3B prospect. In the field, he showed good footwork at both positions as well as a strong arm. Had very quick and clean exchanges on his throw downs in game action. Did a good job of blocking for his pitchers throughout the weekend. At the plate, he showed very impressive hand speed. Started from a square and athletic stance and did a very good job getting into a load. Controlled his barrel well and showed a good swing plane with extension. Worked with a gap-to-gap approach. Max is a talented prospect that we hope to see more of in the future.

04/03/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, SC Max is an athletic C/3B who is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.22 range with accuracy / carry (84 mph velocity) on his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays he displays smooth / fluid actions. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a closed setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Max has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
