01/26/2014 - College PREP - Jacksonville, FL Max is a young freshman 1B/RHP that shows good upside. Offensively, he showed a direct path and generated good bat speed with his hand and hip coordination. He has good pull side pop and is strong throughout his swing. At first, he gets to a good fielding position, plays through the ball and throws accurately to his target. On the bump, he throws three pitches with sound mechanics and rhythm. He has fluid arm action and repeats under control. In all - Pearton is a young player with a projectable frame and a high ceiling.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
