10/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Best of The West - Upperclass Max continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 7.19. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through, creating momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground as has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. On the mound, he shows a controlled, repeatable delivery allowing his quick arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 75-78 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with across break. He maintains are speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more rm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Max is a 2022 LHP/OF. Medium frame and athletic build that has room to fill out and add strength. Primary left-handed pitcher, with good balance and good extension out front. Maintains clean direction in the lower half with developing arm speed from a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball has good arm-side sink at 77-80mph. Deceptive motion and induces soft contact. Shows a 1/7 curveball with sweeping action across the zone, throwing it well to right-handed hitters for swings-and-misses in the low-60s. Mixes in a good changeup with FB arm speed. Secondary OF that has a quick transfer and release. An athletic gather and approach and making accurate throws at 84mph. Left-Handed hitter that starts from an athletic and even stance, showcasing an opposite field approach with a smooth path to contact. Has some feel for the barrel and good barrel control, with power potential that will improve with added strength in the frame. Excellent two way potential and should tap into the tools soon to get him to the next level.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Max is a coachable LHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. In the field, Max shows active footwork with a quick first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a quick exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with life through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. He drives through well with his lower half and rotates his core well, driving the ball to the opposite field. On the mound, Max gathers over the rubber and is fluid separating his hands. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Max shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 62-64mph with 3-9 break. Changeup sits from 66-69mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Max is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/16/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Max is an athletic LHP/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Max gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline towards the plate and extends through his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Max shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Breaking ball sits from 56-57mph with sharp 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 62-64mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Loosening his arm action can help Max improve as a pitcher. In the field, Max shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Max can improve defensively by working on his arm accuracy. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent line drives. Getting into a wider setup can help Max improve as a hitter. Overall, Max is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Max is an athletic 2022 grad that plays LHP/OF. Out in Arizona, Max showed that he had been working hard to develop his skills making jumps in several measurables. On the mound, Max shows a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CB combo. The FB shows some cut at times and the CB shows 2-8 action with gradual break. He starts on the rubber at a 45-degree angle getting a relaxed knee lift and works to get his arm up on time. He works a solid front side glove action to try and create good rotation towards the plate. Max shows good actions on the bump but can improve by working on being more aware of the run game and solidifying his off speed pitches. In the OF, Max shows quick and active footwork as he works to the ball. As the ball gets to him, he works behind it making clean exchanges and gets rid of the ball quick. His throws are accurate and strong with carry. At the plate, Max shows the ability to hit consistently from both sides. His setup is square and relaxed as he keeps a quiet head and starts with a low hand slot. He works to keep his stride square and get his foot down on time. Max shows the ability to create some power and drive runs in with a line drive approach. As Max continues to grow and get stronger his game will continue to make strides.

08/05/2019 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Max continues to shine on the diamond. At 1B, feet are active as he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft /sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows an open setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Fastball showed a range of 72-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

02/17/2019 - College PREP - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Max is a LHP/1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Max gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Max shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 58-60mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 61-62mph with cutting action. Max can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. In the field, Max shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Taking better angles to the ball can help Max improve defensively. With three more years to develop, Max has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Max once again shine at the event in Arizona. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but needs to square up and play through balls more with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 67-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/12/2018 - College PREP - Elgin (Chicago), IL Max is an athletic two-way player who continued to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Max works fast and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and extends through on his release. Max shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63mph. Breaking ball sits from 54-57mph with 1-7 break. Max can improve as a pitcher by gathering to a balance point over the rubber. In the OF, Max centers the ball in the middle of his body and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange to throw and keeps his throws on-line to his target. Max can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He lets the ball travel and keeps his hands inside the ball. Max can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Max has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Max is an athletic and talented 20222 2-way prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At 1B, Max is on time with his prep step, anticipates the ball off the bat, and is sure handed. He needs to continue to work on positioning off the bag, picking balls out of the dirt, and footwork on double play feeds. At the plate, Max starts in an athletic stance, keeps the barrel on plane, and is aggressive on the fastball. Getting his front foot down on time, and attacking the inside part of the ball will allow him to stay balanced through contact. On the bump, Max sits 66-70 mph on his fastball and throws a change up at 52-53 mph. He separates on time, has a clean arm stroke, and finishes over the front side. He needs to continue to work north to south and create run on the change up. He holds runner well and fields his position. Max will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

02/19/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Max is a thin, 2-way player with an athletic frame. At 1st base, Max moves well around the bag, he has smooth actions, and fields in a low/athletic position. He presents his glove well, has a clean exchange, and throws with a high ¾ arm slot to his target. On the mound, Max keeps his eyes on target, he repeats his delivery, and works at good a good pace. He separates on-time and has good glove side lead. Offensively, Max has an open stance, a square stride, and average bat speed. He makes contact and gets some extension through the ball. Max can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
