07/07/2017 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Max continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 1B, he displays smooth/fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and he presents on time and out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/08/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Dayton, OH Max is a 1B/OF who will graduate in 2024. At 1B, he displays pre-pitch movement. He works hard getting into a square fielding position as he comes up with a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he hustles as he tracks down fly balls. He fields the ball from a low approach as he catches everything hit his way. With the bat, Max is aggressive in the box. He explodes his lower 1/2 through the zone as he sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
