03/24/2024 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Max continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities have improved. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls. Glove action is soft and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 65 mph. Fastball showed a range of 63-65 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/10/2023 - National Showcase - Gambrills, MD Max continues to impress with his baseball abilities on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 62-63 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Max is an up-and-coming SS/RHP in the 2028 class. In the field, he plays athletic and his feet are active. Has a quick 1st step and closes the distance to the baseball. Has pocket awareness and his exchanges are clean. Ball comes out of the hand well from a high ¾ slot. On the mound, he shows a great attitude and works to win the next pitch. He is a finesse type arm who battles in the zone. Shows solid and repeatable mechanics from the stretch. His FB sat 59-61 and his CB ranged 49-51. At the plate, he is a contact type hitter who helps his team will by putting the ball in play. Looks confident at the plate and shows to hit all types of pitches. Has smooth actions relaxed feel. Overall, once Max fills out and his body matures, scouts feel he has the energy and mindset to become a solid player.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Bowie, MD Max continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 60 mph. Fastball shows a range of 58-60 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At SS, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he creates angles and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Max is a class of 2028 2B/SS prospect. In the field, he shows off a good arm up to 62 MPH. Also shows accurate throws across the diamond. Works through the baseball and has momentum to throw. At the plate, he shows a good setup and stride. Did a good job activating his lower ½ in his load. Max is a good player that we hope to see more of in the future.

07/05/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Max had a great event at the Cape Cod event and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At SS, defensive abilities have improved he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard and is very coachable.

01/14/2022 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex(Ages 12-14) Max is a hard working 2B/RHP in the class of 2028 out of Washington, DC. At 2B, he showed athleticism with a quick first step and good actions. He fields the ball in a low fielding position with his glove out front of his eyes. He makes clean exchanges with a clean arm action and the ability to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, he has a simple set up which allows him to stay in his legs throughout his swing. He keeps his head down to ensure contact and hits the ball to the entire field in his approach. On the mound, he stays in attack mode and tries to win strike one. He gets good extension on his fastball which topped out at 55 mph. Max could benefit from programs/drills such as strength training, one handed infield drills, long toss, arm path, separation hitting, posture hitting, speed & agility.

12/12/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Gambrills, MD Max is a 2B/RHP in the class of 2028. In the field, Max has active feet and the ability to square his body to the baseball. He has great pocket awareness and his exchanges are clean. His high 3/4 arm slot produced accurate throws to his target. On the mound, he displayed a solid mound presence. He incorporated a 3-pitch mix and proved he can establish the strike zone. His 2 seam FB sat at 55 mph and his CB had 11-5 shape. He has a tailing CH to disrupt the hitters timing. When Max learns to keep his eyes to the target, he will maintain balance in his delivery. At the plate, he begins with a lightly closed set up and short stride. He maintains balance in his on-plane swing and produces line drives. Once Max gains separation in the load phase, his timing will improve. Overall, Max has a solid foundation and a bright future on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
