01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at the Yankees Training Complex (Ages 12-14)
Micah is a very talented young player with a big upside. Defensively he has a strong/accurate arm, sure hands, and good body control. Micah can improve by fielding the ball out front, playing through more, and staying lower. As a pitcher he projects well. He displayed an attacking approach, controlled balance point, and a good finish with extension. Micah possesses the natural ability to succeed as a pitcher if he improves his control and arm action. At the plate he displayed good bat speed, barrel accuracy, and power. Micah can continue to focus on shortening his stride, keeping weight centered, and watching the bat wrap on his load.
12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic
Micah is a skilled young player who works hard and is very coachable. As an infielder he showed excellent quickness, body control, release/transfer and plays through well. Improvement can be made by getting better breaks off the bat, taking proper angles and setting feet to throw. On the mound Micah has an explosive body, smooth delivery and the backside finishes well but the front side flies open and his shoulders are too rotational causing problems with accuracy. At the plate he displayed good balance, bat speed/ timing and possesses plus power. Micah can improve by getting stride foot down sooner, shortening his swing and using lower half more.
10/06/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Parker (Denver), CO
Micah is a tall, long, 2-way player with good skills. At SS, Micah has a good approach, he fields on-time, and he funnels the ball in well. He keeps it in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a free arm action with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Micah has solid mechanics, he finishes well, and is in the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Micah has a good set-up, he swings in good rhythm, and he swings a level bat. He makes consistent contact, has pull pop, and finishes through the ball. Abilities can improve with work on the following.
1. Field out front
2. Attack aggressively
3. Long toss
1. Soften landing
2. Loosen back arm action
1. Stay level
2. Back elbow
