05/05/2019 - College PREP - Henrico (Richmond), VA Micah is an athletic OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Micah shows fluid footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, getting good carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and good extension, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Micah is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

08/03/2015 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Brown is an athletic OF who works hard on his skills. In the OF, he shows active footwork and hustles to track down fly-balls. He secures the ball with 2-hands and has a clean exchange to throw. He makes accurate throws into his target and follows through well. Working to quicken his first step and take better routes will help to improve his skills in the OF. With the bat, this righty has a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. Swing path is level as he connects and hits line-drives. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path with increased bat speed will result in increased pop off of the barrel. A young 2019 grad - Micah still has a lot of time to develop his skills and physically mature.

07/29/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Raleigh, NC Micah is a talented R/R OF who is an athlete. With the bat, this RHH show a well balanced approach with a solid base. He waits for his pitch and jumps on it when he sees it. Barrel delivery is quick to and through the zone with extension. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and is aggressive in tracking down balls hit to his right and left. He has a clean exchange and plays through it well toward his target. Overall ability will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
