07/18/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Micah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.37 runner. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip (83 mph velocity) on his throws. He will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared / crouched setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality and plays the game hard. With 2 years to further develop, Micah has the tools to play at the next level with time and room to progress his game.

02/11/2018 - College PREP - Las Vegas, NV Micah is an athletic and talented 2020 OF/SS prospect. In the OF, Micah has an active prep step and creates angles to the ball. Hes aggressive to the ball and uses his lower half to create momentum in his throws. At SS, Micah presents a low/early glove and has a quick first step to the ball. He fields laterally well and plays through his backhand. At the plate, Micah starts in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He keeps his barrel on plane with the ball and stays balanced through contact. Micah will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
