10/14/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Micah is a dynamic athlete who gets better each time we see him. He came to the BF UA Futures South event despite being in the middle of football season. He had returned a kick-off 90 yards for a TD the night before, and shifted gears quickly to show what he could do on the baseball field. He ran a 6.68 60-yard dash and moved well in the infield. His feet and hands worked very well showing natural infield actions. He also displayed a quiet approach at the plate with quick hands and a compact stroke. Micah is an intriguing prospect that should be followed closely in the spring.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Davis is a very athletic 2019 MIF prospect. At the plate, this RHH sets up athletically, has great balance and whips his bat through the zone directly with good bat speed. His mechanics are well polished at his age and he is a consistent threat in the box. An impact player on the base paths as well. Defensively, he has a ton of range, can get to most balls and covers the holes well. Fields the ball out in front with soft sure hands, utilizes good footwork to set angles and work through the ball to gain momentum to his target. Arm plays well with a quick clean release with food carry. Expect big things as Micah develops further through his HS years.

03/08/2015 - National Tryout - Atlanta, GA Davis continues to show a lot of improvements in his baseball abilities with the makings of a special type player at the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.15. At SS, defensive grade have really improved, now showing well above average abilities, displaying smooth, fluid actions. Feet are active, aggressive as he works around and plays through balls well with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he works to get rid of the baseball quickly with throws displaying carry and accuracy. Arm strength has improved as he topped out at 81 mph at the arm strength station. At the plate, hitting / power grades are now slightly above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14) Micah is a strong, young SS/RHP that has above average hit ability. Offensively, he has smooth actions, rhythm in his load and has an ability to spray the ball to all fields. He has a strong lower half and showed plus power in game play. At short, he is athletic, has good range, sure hands and good arm strength with carry to his throws. On the mound, he throws just a fastball for strikes with good repeatable rhythm and delivery allowing for added control. In all, Davis is a good listener that makes adjustments and just has good makeup.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
