07/13/2012 - 2012 Team One South Showcase At Team One South, Michael displayed quick footwork and plenty of range thanks to his natural instincts for taking efficient routes. He also has an accurate arm with plenty of life and carry on his throws. From the right side of the plate he has a balanced setup, but needs to work on engaging his lower half and keeping his front side closed. From the left side of the plate he has quick hands and a level path, but needs to work on staying square. As a 2013 graduate, Michael has the opportunity to continue to develop his skills in preparation for the next level.

03/18/2012 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Buddy is a tall, athletic OF who can switch hit. Defensively, Buddy has sure hands, quick / fluid feet, and he gets good reads off the bat. He plays in good rhythm, fields in an athletic position, and he plays through the ball well. Buddy has a quick arm action with excellent life and carry to his target. At the plate, Buddy is currently better from the left side. He has a tall / open stance, a short / square stride, and he throws his hands well. He has fast bat speed, he makes square contact, and he has pop to the pull side. From the right side, Buddy has a solid set-up, he tracks the ball well, and he shows some pop in his bat. Abilities from both sides can get better if Buddy can stay short to the ball and improve barrel accuracy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
