01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Michael continues to show as a prospect in the OF. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his quick feet(6.69 60 time), covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (92 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate he continues to shine. Hands are quick and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength (88 mph exit velocity) in his swing and he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Mic is an athletic OF/LHP prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Mic shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance with comfortable hands. He is controlled getting into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Mic gathers over the rubber and shows fluid hand separation. He works with a loose arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Mic shows a thee pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 66-68mph with good movement. Changeup sits from 69-71mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Mic is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/25/2019 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Mick is a coachable LHP/OF prospect who showed well during the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic. On the mound, Mick gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and stays inline towards the plate. Mick shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-64mph. Changeup sits from 63-65mph. In the field, Mick takes a good first step and shows quick footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a soft stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated and is explosive driving his lower half through. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Overall, Mick is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his sophomore season.

05/25/2019 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Mick continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a superior runner at 6.70. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Fastball showed a range of 74-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with tailing action. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Mick is an athletic LHP/OF prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. On the mound, Mick starts with a simple rock step and gathers over the rubber. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate. Mick shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph. Breaking ball displays 1-7 break. Changeup sits at 59mph. In the field, Mick takes a good first step and displays efficient footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting into his load and shows plus barrel control, leading to solid contact to all fields. With three more years to develop, Mick has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/26/2018 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Michael is a coachable two-way prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic. On the mound, Michael keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and stays inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball sits from 61-63mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits at 62mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Michael performed well on the mound during the tournament, striking out eight batters in 4.2 innings of work. In the field, Michael shows active footwork and covers ground well. He makes the routine plays and is versatile, showing the ability to play all three outfield positions. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He drives through well with his lower half, leading to solid contact. With four more years to develop, Michael has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Michael is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. In the OF, Michael is on time with his prep step, anticipates the ball off the bat, and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing the ball. At the plate, Michael starts in a squared stance, he creates backside rotation, and stays balanced through contact. He's aggressive on the fastball and has good pitch recognition. Continuing to create separation and loading his hands back into the drive position will allow him to drive the ball to all fields with power. On the bump, Michael as a loose arm action, extends thru his delivery, and makes adjustments pitch to pitch. His fastball sits 70-73, he has good tilt in his breaking ball, and has arm side run in his changeup. Continuing to work on a balance point and driving the backside toward the plate will allow him to work north to south. Michael was one of the top athletes at camp and shows a high baseball IQ. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

05/26/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Salt Lake City, UT Michael is an athletic LHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, Michael shows a repeatable delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a good arm action and extends through on his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Michael has a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph. Breaking ball sits at 59mph with 1-7 break. Changeup ranges from 58-60mph with good sinking and cutting action as he throws with fastball arm speed. In the field, Michael shows active footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into and atheltic position and fields the ball with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and hits from a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to solid contact and line drives. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
