01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Michael is a strong, athletic 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays clean / athletic actions. He utilizes his quick feet in his lateral movements, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Throws display accuracy and carry (83 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall, athletic setup. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, this righty has a 2 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 77-79 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late sharp break and is his out pitch. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Michael has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
